APPLICATION TIPS FOR LOOSE POWDER FOUNDATION:

The primary purpose for using mineral makeup, is to even out the skin tone for a more natural and luminous appearance. A sheer application will mirror your skin tone - naturally. Mineral makeup will adjust as it blends with your skins natural oils, creating a flawless look with no line of demarcation.

- Start with a clean makeup brush made for mineral makeup, such as a Kabuki Brush.

- Pick up a small amount of powder with your brush, and **tap gently to remove excess.

- Gently buff powder in a circular motion onto skin, concentrating on areas that need extra coverage.

- Work the foundation into the skin by pressing the brush gently but firmly to face.

- To get a flawless natural look, always apply mineral foundation in thin, light layers. Keep adding layers until the desired coverage has been reached.

- Your mineral foundation will deepen after warming to your skin.

**To reduce airborne particles, work the powder "into" the brush so that most of the product is no longer visible. Moisturizer helps the powder adhere, so the powder should be applied after moisturizing. Once the powder is worked into the brush, press the brush onto the face firmly, and apply in circular motions. You may also wish to try a flocked sponge.

MORE TIPS

If using a moisturizer on your face, allow the product to soak in before applying loose powder.

Always remember, less is better! Mineral foundation will warm on skin with a healthy and natural matte finish, with coverage that lasts all day.

Allergy sufferers: When first trying out a new product, it is advisable to try the product in a small area first to see if your skin will have a reaction. Other products that may cause an allergic reaction are cleansers, toners and moisturizers.

If you experience an initial irritation (itching) after makeup application, this may be due to the bristles from your brush. Make sure you purchase a brush with soft (but firm) bristles. You may also wish to try a synthetic brush, if you are allergic to animal hair, or one of our new makeup sponges!

Blush

For mineral blush application, the first tip is to use the product very sparingly, as these products are highly pigmented.

Shake a small amount of powder onto a clean surface, and pick a small amount of powder up, using a blush brush.

Smile to find the "apple" of your cheeks and apply a light layer by moving the brush toward the ear, with short up and down vertical movements. Blend in the powder with one soft horizontal stroke.

Blot any excess with a tissue, or cover lightly with foundation powder.

Eye Shadow

It takes three shades to shape the eye. The three shades consist of a highlighter, midtone and contour shade.

The highlighter shade will be the lightest shade, and should be applied to your browbone and eyelid. *Tip: For deep set eyes, use a highlighter shade with a bit of shimmer (Try our Baked Shadows).

Your midtone shade will create the crease of the eye. A matte shade works best for creating the crease, as it is more natural looking. Generally, you will start from the outside corner of your eyelid and gently move your brush across the crease into the inside corner of your lid. You may apply several layers for a more defined crease. Make sure to blend well with the highlight shade.

For contouring the eyes, you will use the darkest of your three shades. Apply your contour shade where the top of your lashes reach, from the outside corner inward. Bring the color up into the outer portion of the crease and blend inward.

For a smokey eye effect, you can use your contour color all over the lid, beginning at the lash line and blend as you move upwards. Make sure to blend well for the true "smokey eye" look!

Tip: Dark tones make the area seem more dramatic and receding. Lighter shades will bring attention to the eyes and make them appear larger.

Concealer

Place a small amount of powder on your fingertip and dot the product on (dry), or use a concealer brush.

Be sure to blend, blend, blend!

You may also wish to try a makeup sponge - blend in a gentle back and forth "dotting" motion. Try not to pull or rub the skin.

Tip: Concealer can be applied either over or under your foundation.

For Dark Circles:

Move from the outside corner of the eye inward and then back out again. You should also apply a bit slightly below your dark circles to avoid the raccoon look. Once application is complete, look in the mirror and smile to see if the application is even, and the product hasn't crept into the little lines around your eye (can be removed with a tissue).
